Parking
New Ross Town Council operate a number of conveniently located car parks in the Town and have, for ease of access, 26 Pay Parking Machines located in prominent locations around the Town.
Signage
As it is of vital importance that a pedestrian signage scheme for a town links in with any existing vehicular signage scheme/s, New Ross Town Council and Fáilte Ireland have improved the tourist signage within New Ross, a Historic Town, into a coherent, consistent and trustworthy set of pedestrian signs to ensure that the experiences of visitors are pleasant, stimulating and welcoming, and to ensure that they can explore this historic town with ease.
Traffic Management Plan
A new Traffic Management Plan was adopted in May 2011, by the Council. This Plan will benefit all road users, both drivers and pedestrians alike. The work has already commenced and will be completed before the end of the year.
Quayside Plan & N25 Re-Surfacing
Following advertisement, expressions of interest for the construction of the new Quayside have been returned and are currently being assessed by the National Building Agency. The programme is on target for a November start date with a proposed 6 month works programme.
The Quayside Plan will totally transform the look of New Ross and provide the link between the JFK Statue and the new improved Dunbrody Visitor Centre.
The surfacing of the N25 is also on target for a November start date. This work should be complete in 8 weeks.
New Ross By-Pass
The proposed bypass of New Ross has been deferred by the Government until 2014. Although the construction of the bypass has been deferred, monies have been made available to Wexford County Council to allow the necessary land purchase programme to continue.
